Child Protection Services

CQID is pleased to announce that in the latter half of 2010 it commenced to provide two new programs that work in close partnership with the Department of Communities (Child Safety Services).

The role of the Recognised Entity is to work collaboratively with Dept of Communities (Child Safety Services) to best represent the interests of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children when they come into contact with the Child Protection System. This service commenced in September 2010.

For more information on this program follow the link to information on Recognised Entity.

In November 2010, CQID began it's Family Support Program. The principal purpose of this program is to provide support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and families to assist parents in the practical care needs of their child, including family reunification and family preservation outcomes.
