Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a case consultation service and professional leadership to client case management and review, across a range of client bases
  • Provide appropriate, best practice therapy and counselling to clients
  • Provide evidence-informed advice and recommendations on understanding and minimising negative impact of trauma
  • Support and develop colleagues team members, and continuously maintain and develop own self-competency
  • Provide high quality professional reports and case notes and ensure maintenance of accurate records and appropriate storage of data
  • Build strong professional relationships with colleagues, clients and stakeholders
  • Support and promote the work and continuous improvement of Central Queensland Indigenous Development

Skills and experience

  • Demonstrated expertise and experience in working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander colleagues and clients to assist healing from trauma
  • Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander heritage and/or strong community connections and cultural competency
  • Demonstrated experience or demonstrated capacity to work autonomously in implementing evidence-based therapeutic case plans for multiple clients simultaneously
  • Familiarity with Human Quality Services Framework standards and knowledge and experience working in accordance with relevant legislation, policy and procedures
  • Well-developed written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Demonstrated experience at working effectively as part of a team

Qualifications and Other Requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Psychology or Social Work
  • Eligibility for full registration with AHPRA or in the case of a Social Worker, eligibility for membership with the AASW
  • Current Class C motor vehicle driver’s license
  • Current Blue Card
  • Willingness and capacity to travel within the Central Queensland Region
