A Step in the Right Direction

Next Step Plus is a free service available for young people between the ages of 15 and 25 who are leaving, or have left care. Next Step Plus can help you achieve your goals, build your life skills so you can be the best person you want to be.

If your between 15-18 years old and in care, Next Step Plus can support you with your transition from care planning. If you’re between 18-25 years and have had a care experience at any time after your 12th birthday, Next Step Plus can support you.

Help is voluntary

Next Step Plus services are voluntary, hassle-free and designed to engage with you as you move towards a more independent life. How involved Next Step Plus gets in helping out is totally up to you.

How do Next Step Plus services help?

Next Step Plus services help young people who are leaving, or have left care, with quick access to practical advice and support with things like:

accessing accommodation support services
reconnecting with family, friends, community and building relationships
education, resumes, training and jobs
health and social and emotional well-being appointments
counselling
helping to organise other things like Identification, Medicare, Birth Certificate, Drivers License etc.
