Deadly Futures

Empowering Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth through cultural identity, practical skills, mentoring, & tailored support for positive futures

This service is available in:

Deadly Futures

The Deadly Futures Program is an early intervention initiative designed to empower Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people to create positive pathways for their future. Focused on cultural identity, work readiness and social and emotional wellbeing, the program supports young people at risk of disengagement from school or contact with the justice system.

Delivered in partnership with Elders, industry leaders and community organisations, Deadly Futures provides practical skills, mentoring and culturally safe learning environments to help young people strengthen their resilience, build confidence and connect to meaningful opportunities in education, training and employment.

To achieve this, we provide tailored supports including transport, housing, education and training pathways, mentoring, and alcohol and drug counselling. Our focus is on keeping families strong, ensuring young people have access to education, family, and community support, and creating meaningful opportunities for positive futures.

Who is this service for?

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people who:

  • Are aged between 13–17
  • At risk of contact with the Youth Justice System
  • At risk of disengaging from school
